Sound, light and waves in water all propagate as a result of some kind of oscillation. This page is about waves and oscillations in various mediums.
Waves
A virtual slinky was created for this animation. Waves can now be demonstrated on screen.
Vibrations
This animation demonstrates the phenomenum of "resonance". An object is coupled to a spring and the system oscillates (vibrates). Change the frequency of the source until you reach the natural frequency of the system and you will witness resonance when the amplitude of the oscillation increases dramatically.
Resonance with pendulums
A number of pendulums on a stiff wire are used here to demonstrate resonance. This is how radio reception works.
